DIY Rejuvenating boot balm

If you  have had really bad cracked heels, or your feet are in need of some serious TLC after summer, then this DIY at home remedy is for you.

This simple heel balm, will have your feet feeling, looking and smelling amazing in no time!

🔸¼ cup/ 55g Shea Butter
🔸¼ cup/ 55g Coconut Oil
🔸3 Tbsp/ 30g Beeswax
🔸¼ cup Magnesium Flakes + 2 Tbsp boiling water (Or ¼ cup of pre-made Magnesium oil, though this won’t yield as much magnesium in the final product)
🔸5 drops Oregano Essential Oil
🔸5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oils
🔸5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
🔸5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
🔸5 drops Geranium Essential Oil

Standard Method:
1. Pour 2 tablespoons of boiling water in to the magnesium flakes in a small container and stir until it dissolves. Set aside to cool.

2. In a large glass jar combine the coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter and place jar in a small saucepan with 1 inch water and turn on medium heat.

3. When melted, remove the jar from the pan and let the mixture cool until room temp and slightly opaque. At this point, put in to a medium bowl or into a blender.If in a bowl, use a hand blender on medium speed and start blending the oil mixture.

4. Slowly (starting with a drop at a time) add the dissolved magnesium mixture to the oil mixture while continuing blending until all of the magnesium mix is added and it is well-mixed.

5. Add the oregano, tea tree, peppermint, lavender and geranium essential oils and whip until combined.

6. Place into glass jars. Store in fridge for a cooling lotion (best consistency) or at room temp for up to two months.

Thermomix Method:
1. Pour 2 tablespoons of boiling water in to the magnesium flakes in a small container and stir until it dissolves. Set aside to cool.

2. Place the coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter into bowl and melt for 6 minutes at 70 degrees on speed 1. You might need to stop and scrape sides during this time to ensure everything is melting.
3. When melted, let the mixture cool until room temp and slightly opaque.

4. Blend mixture for approximately 5 minutes on speed 3, while slowly (starting with a drop at a time) adding the dissolved magnesium mixture to the oil mixture until all of the magnesium mix is added and it is well-mixed.

5. Add the oregano, tea tree, peppermint, lavender and geranium essential oils and whip on speed 6 until combined (approx 5 seconds)

6. Place into glass jars. Store in fridge for a cooling lotion (best consistency) or at room temp for up to two months.

Use on cracked heels at night. Apply a thick coat and wear socks until the salve absorbs. For best results, exfoliate feet with dry skin using a pumice, then do a detoxifying foot soak, let dry and apply the salve. Repeat as needed until problem resolves but do not use for more than 9 days at a time.
